Mrs Ann Williams was appointed to the ACMSF in 2017. She works as commissioning and contracts manager at Liverpool City Council responsible for the local Healthwatch services which is the consumer champion for health and social services. She was previously a Citizens Advice Bureau manager for sixteen years and held regional positions within the National Association of Citizen Advice Bureau and was a lay member on the Alder Hey Hospital ethics committee.

She has been an active lay member of the FSA’s Social Science Research Committee since 2008 and was a member of the FSA’s Consumer Advisory Panel until it was disbanded in 2016. She is a lay member of the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) Public Health Advisory Core group E, a member of the Liverpool Central Medical Research Ethics Committee and before being appointed to the main Committee was already a co-opted member of the ACMSF Ad Hoc Group on Campylobacter.
