The thirty eighth meeting of the Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food will be held at 10.30am on 19 September 2000 in Room 125A Skipton House, 80 London Road, Elephant and Castle, London SE1

5. Research and surveillance update

- preliminary results from a Food Standards Agency national study on the microbiological quality and heat processing of cows' milk ACM/485

- Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) : summary of FSA research ACM/486

- MAP and the aetiology of Crohn's disease ACM/487 

The Committee will receive progress reports on these issues.

6. Salmonella in Eggs Report

The Committee will consider the final draft report of its Salmonella in Eggs Working Group, with the aim of agreeing its submission to the FSA. ACM/488

7. In-shell egg pasteurisation

The Committee will receive a presentation from Sainsbury's on their work in producing in-shell pasteurised eggs. ACM/490

8. Mycobacterium bovis

The Committee will consider the need to set up a Working Group to review the possible health risks associated with consumption of meat from animals with evidence of M. bovis. ACM/480 ACM/491

9. ACMSF open meeting

The Committee will hold a preliminary discussion on the arrangements for its open meeting scheduled for 5 December 2000. ACM/492
