The Secretariat has produced an information paper summarising action taken on points arising from the minutes of previous meetings.

  1. Shiga toxin producing E.coli (STEC) in food (ACM/1191)

The Committee is being asked to consider the risk from STEC in raw and ready-to-eat foods to support decision making regarding the safety of these products.

  1. Assessment of the risk of avian influenza viruses via the food chain (ACM/1192)

The Agency would like to ask the Committee to revisit this issue following a number of recent outbreaks on poultry farms in the UK. The Secretariat has produced a risk assessment for the Committee’s consideration.

  1. Histamine in cheese (ACM/1193)

Following a recent discussion on histamine in cheese by the Committee on Toxicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment (COT), the Agency would like to bring this issue to the Committee’s attention and request any comments on the issue.
