The attached schedule records action taken on matters arising from the Committee’s one hundred and fourth meeting held on 19th of October 2023 and outstanding actions from previous meetings.

4.5

Subject to the amendments, members approved the minutes of the 103rd meeting as an accurate record and agreed that they should be posted on the ACMSF website.

7.3

A committee member stated that there is an on-going botulinum outbreak in France and asked if FSA, alongside UKHSA, intend to send around a circular to small restaurants in the UK to remind them of the risks. The secretariat responded that there is some guidance previously produced by the FSA, but we can review and get back to the committee

Guidance around producing foods at home is currently being redrafted. No publication date is currently scheduled but the final version will be made available to the committee once published.

7.10

During discussions of the Botulinum Neurotoxin-producing Clostridia report, members suggest  number of amendments to the text.

9.2

A committee member made a request that in the reports from the other committees that acronyms are defined

Acronyms have been fully defined in update from other committees (see paper ACM/1423)

 

9.3

A committee member asked that Yersinia could be included in the items of interest lists

This now been added to the Items of Literature paper (see ACM/1422)

5.4

The committee requested that Robin May be approached to determine the reasons behind the delays to the IID3 project to try to prevent them from happening in the future. Secretariat to follow up.

The secretariat will follow up on this action at an appropriate point during the project .

9.6

It was requested that rolling averages be included with the raw data provided in the EFIG reports. Secretariat to follow up with the owners of the data to see if it’s something they could provide.

It was requested that the rates be reported in the summary of the EFIG paper instead of the raw data and to have more discussion and explanations of the data in the report. Secretariat to follow up with the owners of the data to see if it’s something they could provide.

A committee member requested that the incidents of avian influenza be reported separately to the food borne incidents in the report.

9.13

A committee member asked if the increase in cohorts seen in Cryptosporidium cases was due to open water swimming, where people can travel across the country to take part and suggested it might be worth tracing the cases. Secretariat to check if that is the case.
